What's New at Connections!

We hope everyone has been having an exciting Summer in Halifax. Connections has a been a buzz with activity over the past while and we would like to keep you informed on a few exciting events that are coming up:

On Saturday, August 29th there will a day trip to Memory Lane Heritage Village and Clam Harbour. The cost is $15. Phone BSU at 473-8692 for more information.

On Tuesday, September 8th, Employment will be making a steak dinner which will include barbecued steak, onions and mushroom. There will be a $3 cost.

For members who have been employed in the past year, keep an eye out for your invitation to the 2009 Celebration of Employment Dinner, taking place on October 15th, 2009. If you haven't received your invitation by September 15th, phone Gail or Norma at 473-6230.

BSU is looking for members who are interested in being trained for switchboard and office manager. Phone Barb at 473-8329 for more information.

Community Kitchen - Saturday June 13th

There will be a Community Kitchen at the Queen St. Sobey's on Saturday from 12-3pm. The cost is $2 and the meal will be meat loaf and quinoa salad. Hope to see you there!!

Festival of Hope

Hey Everyone, this Saturday Connections will be joining others in the community at the Festival of Hope. The Festival will take place from 11am-3pm at Alderney Landing and will feature a free barbecue and family activities along with musical entertainment and a market.

Connections staff and members will be going to the Festival, meeting at the Alderney Landing Stage at 1pm.

We hope to see you at the Festival!

Community Kitchen - May 30th

There will be a community kitchen on May 30th at 12pm at the Queen St. Sobeys. The meal is Fish Chowder. The cost is $2.

Come to Community Kitchen!!

The next Community Kitchen, featuring a delicious meal of Vegetarian Curry with Rice will take place on Saturday May 16th at 12pm at the Queen St. Sobeys...all members are welcome to attend. The charge is $2.
